How Challenge Day Works

Many young people feel terribly isolated today. This isolation isn't due to a lack of people around them, but rather to a lack of connection with those people. The Challenge Day program tears down the walls of separation around them and creates connection and support among the participants. Using highly interactive and energetic activities, Challenge Day Leaders guide teens on a carefully-designed exploration of the ways people separate from each other, and model tools for creating connection and building community.

The Challenge Day program is approximately 6 ½ hours long and takes place during a school day. The event takes place either off-campus or in the school gym or a similar facility large enough to give 125-150 people ample space and privacy. There are 100-125 students  and 20-25 adult volunteers. Two leaders from the national Challenge Day program lead the students and adults through the programs.

What takes place on The Day?

“Challenge Day taught me how to open up myself to other people.  I used to close myself and acted like someone I wasn’t.  After Challenge Day, I started to be myself.”   - Central Florida Student
